Welcome to cebas’ World of Particle Dynamics!
thinkingParticles has had a decade of massive achievements, introducing ground-breaking technologies and approaches that helped make special effects simple to develop, accurate and as close to reality as reality itself!
This flagship tool has become widely known and commonly used across different industry specializations as well as CG platforms such as 3ds Max, 3ds Max Design and Cinema 4D – increasing its diverse customer base at a phenomenal rate!
thinkingParticles 6 aims to be a one-stop solution for all kinds of special effects work. By adding softbody and fluids to its physics solvers while still using a fully procedural approach, a unique way for multi-physics solvers is engineered. The intention is, as it was with all other technologies introduced by cebas, to democratize the whole sector of water and liquid simulation for the 3ds Max user.
Our target is to enable every 3ds Max user to create Hollywood style special effects without draining tens of thousands of dollars.
Edwin Braun, CEO of cebas Visual Technology Inc., on what the future holds for thinkingParticles:
"Our future thinkingParticles products will enable smaller studios to deliver high quality special effects, such as; water and fluids, at a much higher return for their buck! While other studios would need hundreds of employees, custom coded software packages and other tools costing them a lot more than they bargained for or anticipated.”
thinkingParticles 6 has gone a step further with its fluid simulations through the enabling of change in state of matter - giving users endless freedom and flexibility in creating different matters out of its original state: for instance, oil can turn into ice at will of the user.
GPU Based rendering finally does not look like GPU rendering anymore! Come and see it happening right in front of your eyes @ SIGGRAPH 2012:
finalRender is the movie industry’s workhorse renderer and it was the first 3ds Max rendering solution to start the whole GI rendering craze. It is continuing to break new grounds with its current release of finalRender 3.5 SE.
finalRender 3.5 SE is a chance for users to enjoy one of the most advanced and reliable renderers on the market.
cebas’ finalRender 4GPU has sparked the imagination and thrilled thousands of artists in the industry. Its revolutionary announcement on the future of rendering technology from last year remains a tech-buzz!
In such a short period of time, cebas’ very own trueHybrid™ approach to GPU rendering has become an impressive piece of technology that is spearheading the rendering industry and will continue to do so for decades to come.

finalRender 4GPU: Massive Memory Optimization and an Innovative Physically Based Microfacet Model for Blurry/Rough surfaces
finalRender 4GPU now has the ability to render BILLIONS of Polygons within mere seconds, using the absolute minimum amount of memory on a single GPU or even with a Multi-GPU setup - overcoming an obstacle most other GPU renderers have for 3ds Max!
Be it CPU or GPU: latest advances in research and development of new rendering algorithms will always find their way into finalRender as well.
The “Physically Based Microfacet Model for Blurry/Rough surfaces” (PBMM) is the latest development in finalRender 4GPU for simulating realistic surfaces and materials, where rough surfaces can now be realistically simulated based on a Micro Facet computation model.
thinkingParticles GE™ for Gaming Engines: Bringing Hollywood to Indies’ Doorstep!
