I have lost my original cebas_IPCLAMP.EXE installer. Where can I get this again? I need it for my cebas plug-ins. |
|
All registered users of cebas plug-ins may request access to our download section in the online shop. There you can find under "My Account" a "My Downloads" section. All products you own are listed there. If you have not registered in our online shop at http://shop.cebas.com you may do so now. Follow the links and press the register me button once. |

I have re-installed IP-CLAMP and it won't accept my orignal license file, I get error code 0 - 'Existing licence file is unusable on this computer'. Why has this happened? |
|
Error code 0 indicates that the MAC address of your network card has changed - which is normal if you have changed your network card. If you haven't changed any hardware then this is likely caused by an installation of a Network Bridge in Windows XP. This service will dynamically change the MAC address of your network card causing IP-CLAMP to fail - we strongly recommend that you do not use a Network Bridge on the IP-CLAMP machine. If you have changed your network card or previously had a Network Bridge installed you will need to reapply for your authorisation file - please email your details, including product serial number, to register@cebas.com. |

What IP-Address must I type in when installing my cebas plug-in? IP-Clamp is installed on the same PC and I do not have a network. |
|
When all your cebas plug-ins are installed on one PC and you do not want to share a license of a plug-in in your network you may use the suggested default setting of 127.0.0.1. Also the default port number 3140 should be fine in most cases. Those two settings shoudl give you a working environment for all of your cebas plug-ins.

Online update does not work! Error -2 or Error -3, what does this mean? |
|
When you are not able to get another online update from our Authorization Server, it is because you have changed the PC, Network Card, or you are using false license numbers to authorize. The online Authorization server does allow one time authorization, only. However on the same PC with the same license numbers you may get your authoirzations as often as you want.

Online update not available - What does this mean? |
|
The cebas authorization server needs to be accessed through an internet connection. If your workstation does not have an internet access or if the system firewall prevents you from using the IP-Clamp online system the live authoirzation will not work. You may also want to check the cebas authorization server name or IP address in the IPclamp.ini file. The live authorization server can be accessed at authorize.cebas.com

Where do I find ipclamp.ini? |
|
The floating license server application IP-Clamp will be usually installed in a standard Windows program path. I this path you will find all necessary configiration files and tools for the licensing of cebas plug-ins.
C:\Program Files\cebas\IP-Clamp
Replace C: with your system drive or the drive letter where Windows installs program files on.
The minimum content of ipclamp.ini should look like this:
[General] liveupd_ip=authorize.cebas.com moreips=1 port=3140 dodns=0

How can I transfer a cebas plug-in license to a new/different PC?
|
|
There is no possibility to transfer the license right now. We recommend to install IPClamp on a license server that usually does not get changed. The license can be accessed from any workstation in the network. Or as the license is connected to the network card you can move the network card to the new PC .

The floating license system gives me some problems, when I try to apply the settings, the GO button stays gray (inactive). What did I do wrong? |
|
When the GO button is gray it means the service is already running. So no problem there! To stop the service use the Stop button, as soon as the service is stopped the Stop button becomes gray and the GO button becomes active. The Service can then be started again by using the GO button.
The floating license service must be active at all times, the IP-Clamp Application, however does not need to run.

Can I install IP-Clamp on an Apple Computer? We use our Apple system as file server. |
|
IP-Clamp is a windows service that needs to run under Windows 2000, Windows 2003 or Windows XP. There is no Apple compatible license server at the moment.

IP-Clamp Service does not start? I always get can't start IP-Clamp Service. |
|
If the IP-Clamp service is not starting anymore it could be because of a corrupt or false "ipclamp.ini" file.
You'll find the "ipclamp.ini" file on your system drive in the Program Files folder under cebas -- IPClamp. There you may open the ini file and correct it.
A fresh file should look like this: --------------------------- [General] moreips=1 dodns=0 -----------------------------
After you have deleted all other entries you may start reconfiguring the service again. Start the IP-Clamp Application to run and configure the service. Adjust all the settings once again (IP,Port Number, Password). This should bring up the service again.
